Parents & Facebook

[ENTRY 22..✍]

Mom and dad video called us. They do that oftentimes now ever since they joined Facebook this year. I used to dread that, actually, when I was still active there many years ago. Those times, the site didn't have much privacy controls yet so your friends list was visible to everyone and I was wary that if my parents were to have Facebook, my teachers might contact them about my delinquency in school. I used to skip classes a lot and my parents knew nothing about that. And I don't know about others but it's always been weird for me to have your parents in the circuit of the same social platform as you. Even teachers or professors. Your activities become suddenly controlled.. I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

I remember discouraging dad to make an account the first time he thought of creating one. I said: "Facebook is toxic. Better stay away from it."

LOL.

Now, I'm not active there anymore but my page still exists. It's empty, though. But just recently, during one of their calls, my dad asked, "Who's Eren Jaeger?"

My eyes immediately widened in alarm and my little sister looked at me before laughing her ass off. "HAHAHA. He found you!"

I purposely set a different name so no one could find me but I guess I forgot about the "people you may know" section. (By the way, Eren Jaeger is not really the name I put there but it's still somewhat like that, more or less.) Dad said he saw my profile there and that the face looked like me. He was using mom's account at that time and sent a friend request. Until now, I haven't accepted yet. Haha. Like I said, I'm not active. I don't even have the app. But I made sure to change my picture to where my face is covered now. Lmao.
