Such a CRAZY dream

Dear Diary, I will tell you about my dream I had last night…

I’m still in shock and want to write it down before I forget… I’ll divide it into chapters. Reading it will make it clear why.

It’s not uncommon for me to see myself as someone else in a dream, or not be there at all.

And this was one of those dreams, where I wasn’t myself at all, yet I felt every emotion of that being as if they were my own.

Chapter I: The Last Sunset of the Old World

The apocalypse didn’t begin with a meteor.

Not with a nuclear bomb.

Not with an alien invasion.

It began with arrogance.

When humanity decided it was the pinnacle of all things. That the oceans were mere resources, the galaxies - empty, and other forms of life, if they even existed, were no more significant than an ant on the pavement.

But we existed.

We - the Waterkind.

Living in the depths, sensing through the tides, thinking in the rhythm of the currents. Not hostile. Not interfering. Until they started killing us.

I am a young man, was born in-between.

Half-water, half-human.

Skin the color of the deep sea, almond-shaped eyes that reflected light like a fish’s, voice slightly distorted, like it echoed through water.

Everything else - human.

A heart capable of love. Pain that could be hidden.

My friend - human.

Raised in a world of order, built on ideals of liberty, but always with the shadow of a weapon nearby. One of the few who saw me not as “other,” but as “his own.”

When the world began to collapse: wars had begun, everything was falling apart, and then came the nature: dead rivers, cities swallowed by storms…We found a way how to escape from that: to travel back into the another dimensions…

And we did.

Chapter II: The Era of Unity

In the new world, humans(not only them) built cities where the sky met the depths.

Skyscrapers streamed with water and coral. Streets built for both feet and fins. Children of all races laughing together. Humans and Waterkind - one society. Cosmoharbors buzzed with life from galaxies once considered fantasy.

The world became bright.

And for the first time, I truly felt alive.

But in the very structure of this world hid the old shadows.

People who resented us.

Who hadn’t forgiven the change.

They didn’t shout.

They waited.

And then they acted.

The world cracked again.

Chapter III: To Flee Toward the Stars

We tried to go back again. But this new timeline was different.

People were more guarded.

Freedom became a word with limits.

We saw the same mistakes repeat, just in new disguises.

And we realized - not every war can be won here.

Sometimes, to save the future, you must leap far into it.

We left Earth.

The intergalactic military fleet became our new home - a place where species meant nothing, and missions meant everything.

We serve on a ship seeking peace across distant worlds, still dreaming of returning home.

Not to conquer.

But to be understood.

To return to a world not torn apart by fear or difference.

I look at all of this and think: maybe we should try our luck again and jump into another timeline, another dimension…

But we’re already too worn out…

And I woke up.
