Story time part 6

As she got closer she passed beautiful flower gardens that were full of flowers that filled the air with their perfume. She had to admit though that if she stayed too long near the flower gardens the strong smell gave her a horrible headache. As Eowyn continued walking she could finally see the glass dome of the greenhouse. The sun reflected off the glass that had detailed designs of elegant curves and arches. The greenhouse had the main part of the building with the humongous dome that let light shine through. On all four sides long buildings were attached that held even more plants and vegetation. The entire building was elegant looking, just like all the architecture that was built by the elves. The greenhouse was one of the biggest buildings in the entire city as more than half the food the elves ate grew there. She was banned from working at the greenhouse that held the plants with magical properties, in fear she would steal them. Eowyn had been especially disappointed with that decision. Big orchards of fruit trees grew around the greenhouse. She could see elves climbing the trees to gather the fruit and throw them in baskets. Eowyn finally made it to the big doors that led to the inside of the greenhouse. As she walked in the humidity warmed her skin and she directed herself towards the shelves that held the gardening tools. She grabbed worn out leather gloves and a basket and headed to the area that held the bushes that grew the yellow jacket berries. Inside of the greenhouse were rows upon rows of dirt that held all sorts of fruit and veggies. In the middle of the greenhouse was a ginormous tree that barely touched the top of the dome. Big glowing fruit hung from its branches and big swirling designs in the trunk and branches glowed. The roots reached out and you can see over time they had disturbed the pebbled paths that went throughout the greenhouse. Long vines hung from the branches and glowed a warm yellow. It was definitely the highlight of the greenhouse. Shelves, barrels and boxes were strewn all over, holding from gardening tools to fertilizer to freshly picked produce. Eowyn made it to the patch that held the yellow jacket berries and began to work. Her knees sunk into the moist earth and the smell reminded her of the times when she and her father went hunting in the rain. With precision, she began picking the fuzzy fruit. With the sun beating on her, she had already begun to sweat and she knew it was going to be a long shift.

“Eowyn!” a voice shouted. She turned around but she already knew who it was. Her best friend Campa, the only elf that stuck with her and treated her normally.. They have been best friends since they were little and stuck together like glue. Something Eowyn never understood was why Campa stuck with her. Campa was beautiful, with her long blond hair and lovely brown skin. Her dark eyes were always cheery and her attitude always matched the emotion in her eyes. While other elves didn’t treat Campa as badly as they did with Eowyn, they always whispered behind her back, judging her for sticking with Eowyn. Why would she stay with her? Was she crazy? What was wrong with her? Whenever Eowyn saw Campa a trickle of guilt flowed through her. Campa was on the path of being an artist. She had always dreamed of being a famous painter since she was little, creating art that would be beautiful enough to even hang on the walls of the royal palace. She was well on her way of doing so and had even earned an apprenticeship with the royal artist, but since Campa associated with her she was stripped of her apprenticeship. Campa had always just said she had only seen art as a hobby but that was a complete lie. She had given up her future to support Eowyn. Eowyn would always be grateful but she had no idea how Campa had the heart to do it. If the roles were reversed she didn’t know if she would be willing to give up her future.
