Dear Diary, the following i read in a book titled: Geborgen in liefde. Author Sarah Williams. The quote is from Jürgen Moltmann. I do not agree with everything that he has written during his life. But this quote i find to be strong:
“In reality there
is no such thing
as a non-handicapped
life; only the ideal
of health set up by
society and the
capable condemns
a certain group
of people to be
called handicapped.
Our society
arbitrarily defines
health as the
capacity for work
and a capacity for
enjoyment, but true
health is something
quite different.
True health is the
strength to live,
the strength to
suffer, the strength
to die. Health is
not a condition
of my body; it is
the power of my soul
to cope with the
varying conditions
of the body.”
I like to add to that
our souls can
only cope when touched
and healed by Christ.
Needed is
a new mindset.
What i'm
not saying is that
there is no need for
healing. There is.
And Christ has
healed many. And still
people recieve
His healing.
Why on earth would we
want to call anyone
disabled? Why not
His abled? Because
God can perfectly
work through anyone
who loves and obeys
Him.
Seems like menkind
( not everyone)
has a completely
different view on
perfection. Like
perfection can only
be found in what
people believe is
perfect. How come that
a perfect God works
through a creation
that eventually
dies? And how come
that perfection is
seen in people's not
so perfect lifes?
True health is thestrength to live, the strength tosuffer, the strengthto die. Health isnot a conditionof my body; it isthe power of my soulto cope with thevarying conditionsof the body.”
