I am my family's retirement plan.

Dear Diary,

I am my family's retirement plan. As the eldest daughter, I am overwhelmed with all the responsibilities that I didn't sign up for. I don't want any of these, but, do I have a choice? Guilt will always be there. Guilt will always pull me back. Guilt will always come knocking whether I like it or not.

Let's accept it, it's difficult to be born poor. As the eldest child, I'm the sacrificial lamb. The responsibility of carrying the whole family is on my shoulders. One misstep and everyone will be affected.

Well, the thing is, I also have my own dreams — but I guess those will need to wait.
