Yesterday I got so excited about exploring lucid dreams. Well I did have a dream today that was more like a nightmare. I dreamt I was a child again and had a fight with my siblings over toys... In the end of the dream, we competed by donating our toys... Totally not a lucid dream. However, to get a lucid dream it's important that you remember and write down your dreams in a journal, so here I am.

On the subject of lucid dreaming, I learned that you have to make a habit of reality checking yourself... It's like that 'inception' movie thing where you use a technique to check if you are in a dream or not. Sounds awesome, but it's really something more mundane like counting your fingers or reading a text twice, things like that. Simple things that dreaming messes up. The idea is that you form the habit of reality checking yourself so often that it carries over into your dreams. So that when you reality check yourself in a dream, you realize that you are dreaming and start lucid dreaming.

I did have a few concerns upon reading that lucid dreaming is not recommended for people who have mental health issues, but I have been already medicated for a long time and I don't experience the symptoms anymore...

Well, here's to developing the skills for lucid dreaming and exploring my subconscious.
