Time is an interesting concept. I went to the beach with my parents and nephew, J, from Monday, August 10th to Thursday, August 13th and it already feels like a distant memory.
Over a month ago I ordered a couple of chargers from therotatingcharger(dot)com. With each charging cable you purchase, you get three connector pieces of your choice (lightning, micro-usb, and USB type c). You leave the connector bit in your phone and the cable will magnetize to it and you can move the cable 180 degrees.
Well, my previous phone used a micro-usb connector and the night before we left for the beach, I decided I wanted to use a regular charging cable to charge my phone so I tried to take the connector out. But it didn't want to come out. The top piece that held the magnet came off and the metal part stayed in the charging port. I tried removing it with needle nose pliers but it was impossible.
The next morning, before we started our journey to the beach, bought a new phone. I spent the whole trip pretty bored since I couldn't really activate my phone while on the road.
I started setting it up as soon as we got to the hotel.
The four of us had a much better time without my sister, brother in law, and younger nephew being there.
Had some really good food and some really tasty black cherry soft serve ice cream.
I spent a lot of money at a candy store, mostly for J. I bought a jelly bean candy dispenser and bought some different candy to put in it. I also bought some chocolate covered sunflower seeds and they are delicious! J tried them and spit them out. He said they were yuck.
One thing that really made me feel good is that two of the three nights we were there, J told me to snuggle him in bed because he was cold. I can't deny a request for cuddles so I quickly put my phone away and slept with him.
I also bought him a couple of toys at the biggest souvenir shop in that city. One of them is a toy replica of a United States Postal Service truck. He loves it! The side doors open and the back door pulls up just like the real thing. He took it with us into several restaurants and the employees would say they loved it, too.
I can't quite remember when this happened, maybe on the way to a restaurant one of those days, but I saw J starting to move in my peripheral and I looked up just in time to see him point at himself, make a heart with his hands, and then point at me. This is something I've taught him to do but it just warmed my heart so much to see him do that out of the blue.
I love him. He is my everything.
In other news, I think I've decided that since DMcD moved so far away and he's actually been kind of distant while talking to me that I need to let him go. His messages are always so short, like just a few words, and he just doesn't try to keep the conversation alive.
