I have seen the version of me
that burns—
fearless, alive, unstoppable.
But not here.
Here,
I don’t break—
I fade.
Quietly.
Daily.
I watch others rise
like it costs nothing,
while I carry
something I cannot name.
It is not envy—
it is the ache
of knowing
I could be more
somewhere else.
Some places don’t destroy you—
they teach you
how to disappear.
And something inside me
still refuses
to call this
home.
