Dear Soulmate,
Christmas was boring as usual. It is tradition to be awake before midnight strikes to meet the exact arrival of December 25, but save for me, my younger sister, her boyfriend, mother, and father, the older sis and her family were asleep. Of course, because of the sleeping toddler, we couldn't celebrate with ruckus and noises. When I was younger, these times were usually loud and full of excitement. Now, in silence, we only watched the city and spied fireworks from the 24th floor. Scarce was their appearance, which felt lonely and depressing..
I received some money from my older sister, which she gave days before, and also the same money I used to buy the gifts I mentioned in my previous entry. Received a dress from Mom. Nothing from Dad or the younger sibling.
The entire day and night was spent binge-watching Squid Game, the show being my suggestion, which, to my smug satisfaction, they enjoyed, so it was pretty good bonding.
I said I hold no fondness for my family anymore—and that still holds true when we're apart—yet, when we gather together, something in me softens against my will..
