Dear Diary,
I no longer place my faith in empty words. How reassuring it is to know that there are men who express their interest through action, through presence, intention, and care, rather than through empty words and the quiet absence of real gestures.
I saw a man holding a beautiful bouquet of lavish pink roses, and in that moment I realised I had never been given flowers like that. I also realised that I had played my part in this — by choosing men who knew how to sustain connection with promises and eloquent words alone. I excused their inaction, again and again. And why? Because I always longed for an equal partnership, yet somehow I was the one doing the giving.
