Dear Diary,

Today I went to buy glue for my desk lamp. To be honest, it has never actually graced my desk. It’s more of a “tranquil nightlight” situation which is great for lulling me to sleep with its cozy glow. But, plot twist: the clamp base broke, so it no longer clamps onto the beside table’s drawer like it's supposed to. Instead, it falls over, just like my hopes and dreams (it literally "sleeps on the right side," like me every night).

So off I went to get the legendary UHU, the glue of champions. You know, the all-purpose one that everyone swears by. But then, oh boy, I encountered Mr. Know-It-All at the register. He recommended a “local brand”. I swear, I should've known it was a trap. I’ll tell you why.

When I got home and tried to fix the lamp, the glue slid off the clamp base and into my hands like it was on a slip ‘n slide. It didn’t dry quickly, and instead of fixing the lamp, it felt like I was slowly glueing myself to my own destiny. After an eternity, the clamp base is stuck together, but then... the real horror began.

Trying to peel the glue off my hands was like some sick, twisted version of peeling off my own skin.Seriously, I was one step away from calling for backup! I washed my hands like a mad scientist and even scrubbed my hands using a perfume bottle like it was some kind of magical potion to remove the glue.

Thank god I got the glue removed it! The clamp base is now stuck together, and my hands are finally free. Lesson learned: Trust yourself(the expert). Never trust a "local brand" and avoid  Mr. Know-It-All suggestions at all costs.

Yours in sticky situations,

Me.
