Dear Tom,

Today, I realized that hard work doesn't always pay off. My roommate, who can't even solve easy-level questions, got a job and had an internship at Microsoft. She didn't do the projects herself but asked friends to do them for her. Despite not being good at coding, she has received many swags by copy-pasting code from GFG. Because of her previous internship at Microsoft, she gets shortlisted most of the time. Tom, you Know what, During interviews, she asks me and other friends for help, but she can't even repeat what we tell her. People don't know her true abilities; they only see her achievements because she shows off more than she actually is.

I'm not jealous of her, but it feels like hard workers don't succeed unless luck is on their side. She is quite lucky in that matter. People say hard work pays off someday, but that's not always true. Many people enjoy luxuries, successes and prizes without having significant abilities. My faith in God has decreased a lot. Every day, I hear or see something that makes me more sad and feel awful. I've worked so hard and made many compromises to get into my field of interest, but my bad luck never leaves me. Why does God always test those who are honest and hardworking and not those who get everything without much effort?
