The Road Between The Living And The Dead

It runs mostly straight when first seen

With an unknown end obscured.

At first it is clear that a choice must be made

Either to join the living again

Or to go with open access into the dead.

The longer the stay upon the road

The less desire there is to leave it

As it's a place where both worlds can be seen at the same time

Not the details of both worlds

Other than the memories of the living

But the abstract knowledge

That there is the dead on that side

And there is the living on that side

Curiosity pulls and suggests there is more road up ahead.

Why leave it?

But the length of stay is often not determined by the viewer

And movement along it cannot stop.

When no choice is made either way

When the viewer dwells too long upon that path

It becomes more difficult to travel upon.

There's bogs of discouragement

That which would entangle the viewer

And restrain the exit even when a choice is made for life.

For unknown to the viewer,

The longer the time spent on that road,

The heavier the pull toward death;

And if not exited from

By way of a choice for life

And often

There comes a time when forces beyond the viewers control

Can come and take the viewer to death.

So when you chance upon that road

And those who love life will do so more often

Decide immediately to leave and return

To the land of the living and life.

Know that although this road is a gift

A last chance to make a decision for life

A decision not made will default in death

If the stay on that road takes too long.
