Let's talk about mindset.

Your mindset is how you view the world. In its natural state, it is the gut reaction you have. Your default setting. Your subconscious, instinctual train of thought. Your mindset, your default look at the world, is engrained in you from the environment in which you came. You absorbed what was around you, and if you were surrounded by negativity then negativity will be your default. You must actively fight against it. You must continuously put in the work. You know it's wrong because you know where you came from is wrong. Each time you fight against it, you fight against the wrongs placed against you and move one step closer to being healthier. To being freer from those that were supposed to lift you up but instead inadvertently tore you down.

My mindset is negative. It's ruthlessly pessimistic. It dreads almost everything. It is self defeating. It is unhealthy. It is a product of my environment. To continue with that mindset, to not fight against it, is to continually punish myself. To continue on the toxicity and unhealthiness of where I came from. But instead of others putting me down, I am my own judge, jury, and executioner. I carry on their legacy.

I believe every child has a seed planted inside of them. If they come from a healthy environment, the parents foster that seed slowly and carefully. They water it, make sure it has enough sunlight, and protect it from pests. They show the child how to tend to it, so that one day it might blossom into a beautiful flower.

On the contrary if the child comes from an unhealthy environment it isn't a flower that was planted, but rather a weed. It sucks the life out of those around it. It spreads its roots deep down and kills everything it touches. It grows uncontrollably. Then when the child is grown they are left with a choice: let it fester, let it control you, let it dictate you, or rip it out. Fight against it with every ounce of will power you have. Fight against the mindset that was planted in you. Fight for your life. Because it'll never truly be your life until you rip that weed out and plant your own flower.

My mindset is positive. It's ruthlessly optimistic. It is open to almost anything. It is self sustaining. It is healthy.
