Dear Diary,
So, I have applied for resignation on 23rd. I don't earn that much now. My package is 5.72 lpa after 3 years. Though I received an additional ~1lakh bonus also (25k from company, 85k from project in 1 year) which was not part of CTC. I started with a package of 2.4lpa. The reason for it being the rape incident and I switched my domain at that time, even though It meant I would get a really poor package
So, this is pretty low package according to my skillset. I told my manager I need to increase my salary till atleast 10 lpa before marriage. My manager Vanshdeep, was really supportive. Usually they don't try to retain anyone in my project. I have known that for long. So, what happened is he said he will talk to senior manager and try to convince him to retain me. He seemed confident that he could, he said our company needs to have good employees. Anyways, i felt really good about his attitude. He even said he would help me find a new job as well. He said that in his review he even suggested to give me promotion. Also, he said that for extra ordinary people we need to go the extra mile to retain. So, anyways, even 10 lpa is not much tbh after 3 years of experience. But they don't give hike more than 40-50%.
But sometimes, these small things also matters. His attitude and his offering me help and guidance was more than enough for me to appreciate him. He is not my reporting manager. I have done lots of very interesting work under my reporting manager Sahil.
Under Vanshdeep I did only 1 complex development and I didn't expect him to say such things.
Funny part is it was a really complex development and I had written 30-40 methods for it, so I was expecting quite a few defects during FUT or ST, but weirdly there was none. 😅 I would say that's something impressive so far.
People my age are earning 30lpa and all... Its fine... I will also get there... In next 3-4 years I would also get to this much salary. Its slow but I would catch up.
I have my Bae with me... There was a time, not so long ago when I had so low self esteem I used to think 10lpa is huge salary for me, and I would be good to go if I get 10. But now I understand that I can aim high and obviously getting good skills was always part of the plan. But I would also try to earn accordingly. I know I am capable enough. I have good brain when it comes to academics. I should finally start to use it also.
