I wonder if there was civilization before the era of dinosaurs.. Not necessarily of the same human race that we are right now, but a race, nonetheless. I mean, Earth is 4.5 billion years old, the dinosaurs reigned for only about 165 million years.. There were still an abundant amount of ages before that and who knows, perhaps another technological society occupied the planet erstwhile and some asteroid or comet wiped them out completely, too; replaced by the dinosaurs we are familiar with today, which, as we all know, went into extinction because of another cosmic rock plummeting into the world. Two massive impacts like that—or perhaps more—would certainly obliterate any trace of the intelligent life forms living on Earth prior to us, no?
I just went to google to see if this is possible and the whole notion is basically called the "Silurian Hypothesis." Ah, the past is so fascinating. I wonder when the human race will go extinct.. To be honest, I want to witness the end of the world at the top of a mountain and see it unfold before my very eyes. I think it's going to be devastatingly beautiful.
