Archery practice - 2022-07-20

Alright, I read that it really helps for the training process to keep track of measurable goals and reflect on the training results.

My goal for the next week (until Wednesday next week) is to improve my head position and body stability during the shot process. Currently, my head position often changes when I transition from pre-draw to full draw.

So, my goal for today is to shoot around 80 arrows with around 70 % of the attempts with a good head position, meaning I turn my head by 80 degrees to the left, look at the target, and keep it straight with minimal tilt and I don't move my head towards the string at full draw but move my hand all the way to my head. One indicator to see if I moved my head is to see if the string smacks my lips during release.

In order to achieve a stable body position, I will focus before the shot on a good foot position, interlocked knees, slight outward tension on both feet, around 15 degrees forward leaning of the upper body, with slight tension on the abs, and relaxed shoulders.

Review:

I was able to exceed my goal, I had a good head position for about 90% of my shots and overall the stability was better today. I also tried to shoot without an arm guard and it was no problem :). I also noticed that my release got better, with the "elbow-squeeze" technique.
