The wind is chilled like a night whos fire just went out. Smoke from its embers billow into the empty sky above me, dancing as they delicately weave their way to you. Hollow does the silence echo into the dark when your voice isn't there to bounce the laughter off of. For five years I evaded the truth while I bounced from corner to corner pretending like I was the only person left in the world. Avoiding the overwhelming voices that beckoned my name like a ship to a siren. But this time, the beautiful distractions I've clung to are no longer there to support me. So I float. Further and further into the vast nothingness I go. Hoping that if I dive deep enough I'll find you waiting on the other side, but knowing the vail between us will never let us meet.
