Dear Diary,

The place is cleaned, laundry is caught up, Kemper says we are grilling dinner tonight. And there is nothing left to do for me today.

So...here I am getting high on our roof. There is a hammock on a little platform he built and I am lazily swinging in it and watching clouds poke out from the canopy.

Kemper wouldn't be happy. When I had talked about it with him, he said he stopped when he graduated high school, mainly because of joining the Marines and he just doesn't have time for it.

High school...I have created a to-do list and I should probably try and enroll again at some point.

I emailed my dad again. I just left it brief and said that I hope he is doing okay. I doubt he responds. It would be nice but I won't hold my breath.

This entry is all over the place.

I could lay here all day.

His place is pretty nice to be honest. It looks like an old two story brick building on the outside. The first floor is what used to be a general store. If I could draw worth a shit, I could probably make a quick sketch of the place. The first floor is where he has his garage for his truck and bike, along with his laundry area and a nice sized pantry. The store floor area, he keeps for storage and there is an pool table.

The second floor is where we live. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. A big living room area and a nice sized kitchen.

He was renting it to begin with and then the man was going to sell it so he went ahead and bought it from him.

I can't imagine this hardware store ever did that well here. This town is really small!

To get on the roof, there are metal foot pegs on the side of the wall that lead up to the hatch. The roof is sloped both ways to help with the shit ton of snow we get. Then he built a slated platform that would let the snow drop off and drain as normal but still be able to stand and have a grill and his hammock and patio furniture out here. The walls to the roof are nice, no one can see me.

I should set out plants here. The only drawback of his place, no yard, just the building itself.

He has it set up securely too. It gives me peace of mind. Security cameras outside so you can see how comes and goes. Steel doors for the garage entrances and doors. (He said they were old and wooden with glass when he replaced them)

It is nice here
