Dear Diary,
I finished reading 1984 last night. We practically live in that kind of world right now. Crazy!
Kemper is counting down the days until he gets his papers saying his service has ended. He said it should be around his birthday which is May 5th. I can’t get much out of him about his two tours. I’m sure he would have some interesting stories to tell and probably a lot of bad ones too.
I asked him why he signed up, he said he did it kind of on impulse but doesn’t really have an exact answer besides that he didn’t want to go to college.
The Marines seems like it would be the most extreme part of our armed forces out of all of them but he survived so that is a good thing. I don’t think I would have chosen the Marines.
