Dear Diary,

Living with DID (dissociative Identity disorder) had been no walk in the park.

DID: formerly called multiple personality disorder, it's characterized by at least two distinct identities.DID is a dissociative disorder and not a personality disorder.

Alter(s): alternate state of identity. Different distinct identity(ies).

The system has faced a lot on the past year and a lot of our friends refused to accept us as who we are... There is around 20-23 of us last time I did a count all sharing a body. It had made romance at times hard.

I am the host of the system, Br. We will all be going by anoynomous names to protect our identity. I'd like to point out I'm not the original alter. There isn't an original alter, but I'll explain that another time.

Our diary entries will focus on experiences from different alters perspectives and what experiences we have gone through.

We will always define all terms we use that people may not be familiar with. I am in no way glorifying this disorder it comes with its own set of struggles.

This marks the start of our diary.

@TitusAlone I have told the alts I have spoken to recently about this that they could write but they need to sign with initials or something and system role if they want, and that they should define what DID is like i did so new readers arent confused.

@AnonSystem Yeah, I'm just glad to see someone on here that I can relate to.

@AnonymousSky Its less rare than a lot of people think. Not as common as depression or anxiety but certainly not as rare as holywood makes it out to be with their movies.

@Alice818 Its not easy but it helps yo be up front about it. Not beat around the bush or sugar coat it. Most people I dated started out as good friends and i won't date someone unless I trust them enough to tell them. -Br (host)

I'm surprised you're able to even enter romantic relationships having this disorder.

That sounds very interesting. I can't imagine how someone like you sees the world and what kind of situations might spring from your disorder. Looking forward to reading your entries!
