Dear Diary, there wasn't much happening today. I just went to a bar with Belle. I don't drink so I usually don't go to bars. But she asked me and I wanted to see her, so I went. It was ok until everyone became so drunk that it got a bit uncomfortable. Belle also doesn't drink, but she still loves to go out. I went home early and maybe Belle didn't like that. But I did my best to be social and thats all I can do I think.
Oh yeah, I also matched with a girl on Okcupid today. It was my first match on a dating app in a few weeks. She seems pretty cool. She hasn't replied to my first message yet though and that was 15 hours ago. So she will never write back probably. Thats how it usually goes.
In my message I asked about the pet sheep she had in one of her pictures. Myabe that was weird or she gets asked about that all the time? It was still nice of her to give me a like though.
So maybe I will talk about stuff I like instead. I will start with Anime. My favorite anime is Hunter x Hunter. I like it so much that I wrote my bachelor thesis on it (and on Jojos).
It's a shonen, bju a very well written one. Every character is likeable and has unique motivation. And the arcs are not just "Gotta defeat that badguy", they are all very different and have different themes and moods.
And then there is the Nen system, in my opinion the best power in all of anime. It gives every character basic skills they can do with their aura, but also conpletely unique powers they can choose themselves. They can make these powers stronger by restricting them in certain ways. But Nen can also be influenced by the users emotions which can lead to interesting results.
There is also a great lovestory in HxH that I cry to every time. I won't spoil it though. So yeah seriously just read or watch HxH. It might seem a bit standard at first, but trust me that is only a fassad to blow your mind later.
I also really liked Dorohedoro last season, probably my favorite anime of the year. It has such a chaotic world and plot that you just never know what happens next. I've been listening to the OST too. My favorite is the second ending song called Night Surfing.
I never thought I would like 3D animated anime so much, but aftee Beastars last year I should have expected it. Beastars was great. I especially liked how relatable the struggles of the protagonist Lugosi are. Everyone expects him to be a monster because he is a wolf, but he is actually quite shy and needs someone who trusts him. It's just like with men in real life.
His girlfriend the bunny is also a great character. She seems super innocent, but actually sleeps with a lot of guys, which makes her the target of slutshaming. It's great that female sexuality is shown in this anime. Because normally in most media, women seem like they never want sex and just do it because the men want it. That made me so insecure as a teenager, because I thought I wanted something that girls didin't like at all. But with shows like like Beastars things seem to be changing slowly.
Well that was all for today. Take care!
