Wise One,
Warning I talk about periods here.I've decided to take a break from school for a little while to save money. Groceries are a bit tight and I did not qualify for financial aid or scholarships this time.
I'm also having a woman's health problem. Its been over a month sense I have been on my period. The first day is so excruciating, I can't move.. I've been to the doctors about this before, even been on a 4 month long period. Its always the same result. Then after a crazy long period, I would go many months, sometimes even 6 without one.
In my teen years, they say oh your are young, it will regulate eventually. Oh periods are meant to be painful, thats just how they are. Later, they said it was because I was "too athletic" probably too stresses and thin. Then I got injured and gained weight rapidly. Now the doctors say it's all because I am "too fat". Either way the recommendation is always birthcontrol, which makes me feel like shit.
They finally did blood tests which recognized crazy hormonal imbalance. Apparently my body is always low in progesterone, and they finally noticed my PCOS and endometriosis. Regardless, they just told me all that can be done for now is birthcontrol or fertility pills (which cause more costs over time). Then again told me my symptoms would probably decrease if I lost weight.
It's so frustrating. If they just looked at my medical record, they would see this has been an ongoing issue well before I got fat. I tried going to different doctors in the same facility (cuz that's the only place my insurance is good) and they all say the same thing. I even brought a copy of my medical records which documented my height and weight everytime I've seen the doctor. They still don't listen and blame my weight.
So it's been a little over a year since I've been to the doctors. Yet my friends and husband ask me to go again. Now isn't a good time with the covid 19 problem, and besides, they will just say the same thing over again so what's the point?
