A Freak in Limbo

There is heaven, hell, and purgatory.

Purgatory is the worst.

When I first heard this, I thought it was ridiculous…

Wouldn’t you choose purgatory over hell?

But purgatory is the hardest — the path between life and death, closer to death.

This is what I have been doing for years.

There is a judge — merciless, unforgiving, arrogant — who takes pleasure in punishment.

A judge who sends everyone to purgatory without even listening to them.

The voices are the defendants.

They tell their own stories.

There is no hiding; the judge sees and knows everything anyway.

They try to explain themselves, but the judge is bored and does not listen.

The verdict has already been decided.

Yet the cruel one loves to stand before the same court every day.

This court, which lasts forever, is a punishment.

Its name is purgatory.
