I am going to be blunt with all this. Well think about why you broke up with him in the first place. Also why is he waiting until you turn 18? That's a little weird if you ask me. By then you will be an adult and so that is a little concerning. Are you saying your current boyfriend isn't great because you want an excuse to get back with your ex? If your current boyfriend isn't playing his role then I recommend breaking up with him. Also did your ex just contact you out of nowhere? If so then that is a little weird. If you stayed in contact then that's fine. People have stayed friends with their ex's before. That's my little piece of wisdom.
