I would like to tell you about my first project in school. In the first project, we were assigned to make a short film with the theme of democracy. We started working on the script on October 5-7 2023 and started our first shoot on October 8 2023. Muncar, Gemawang was chosen as the place to shoot several scenes. Not all class members go to the location due to long distance constraints and limited vehicles. 13 members including me went to the location.
We gathered at Pengayoman Park at 7.00 a.m and departed 30 minutes after. The road to Gemawang is very far, and there are some road facilities that are slightly damaged so we set off with caution. After almost an hour and a half we finally arrived at the house of our friend named Arifah which we plan to use as a transit point. Arifah's family welcomed us on arrival, we were served soto and coffee for breakfast before we headed back to the shooting location. After having breakfast, we prepared the necessary tools and then went to Muncar.
At first the shooting went well, we managed to take 2 scenes well. But in the afternoon, the weather was getting cloudy and finally it rained heavily. We had to stop filming and rest at a security post near there. We were stuck there for 2 hours until the rain let up a little, then we continued to take 1 last scene at that place. Filming finally finished at 4 p.m, we immediately returned to Arifah's house. The weather that afternoon was less supportive, since noon the rain had not really stopped, it was still drizzling.
We rested at Arifah's house while drinking tea and coffee. Some of my friends are sleeping and some others are fun joking. We played games together while waiting for the rain to stop so we could go home. It was so fun, we didn't realize that night had come. There was a feeling of panic in our hearts because our house was far away and it was already night, but the rain didn't let up. We finally decided to ride through the rain and ride side by side so we could take care of each other. We even made a drive order. After maghrib prayer, we said goodbye and went home. Do not forget we wear raincoats and pray before leaving.
The road to the house is a little scary because at some points there really are no street lights and we are relying on the motorbike lights only. We drive slowly so that when there are potholes we can still avoid them. Feelings of fear and anxiety overtook me at that time, but my friend tried to convince me that we would be fine. We pulled over to take shelter because it was raining heavily again and it was not possible to continue our journey. We stopped for about 15 minutes and continued on our way until we finally arrived at our respective homes. We said goodbye to each other on the street. That day was a pleasant and memorable experience for me.
