Dear Diary,
Just lost an entire entry I was writing. It got long and I didnt save it. Just realized that this diary has become a bitch book about my old employer, and shady asshole Jennifer. The last time I wrote things werent that bad with the place...now she wants us to move like tomorrow. Like anyone could do stuff like that.
What she does is she looks for houses in the city of Cleveland that are in foreclosure meaning that the sheriff is going to take the house for not paying proerty taxes and sell it to someone else. Then she finds the current owner losing the house tells them that she does "charitable" work, she helps basically poor and destitute people find work and housing. She tells the owner, "Rather than loose your hosue completely with no recourse, why dont you deed it to me, cause Im helping people and after I get some rent for the house, make some money (on the sly, after the sale and this is not part of the legal record, this money offered next) I will give you 8000.
Well then she goes to court, tells the court that yes she will get the property taxes paid and she pays the first installement to show the court this is her intention. This is the only payment she ever makes on the property taxes. She also never makes that other payment she promised the owner before they deeded the house to her. It is conveniently forgotten and Im sure shed deny the promise if asked about it in court. I have never met a more devious liar and I hate liars.
We are in one of the properties she owned in Cleveland. The man next door owned it before and Jennifer made this exact speech to him almost a decade ago (about 7 years). We were told about the 8000 from him. He was so angry to hear that when she looks for these forecloseabe properties and finds the owners she looks for the properties that dont have lots of major problems, nothing she would have to sink alot of money into. She just fixes the cosmetic things and with items she find, scraps from other houses and the garbage or buys very cheap. Most of the windows in her properties arent the right fit or mismatched. The inside doors look like it should be the front door of a 200,000 home and isnt cut right. The tiles that line the shower arent the same colors, even one of the rooms is carpeted with squares that were once samples from a carpet company.
When the neighbor signed her this house the property taxes were in arrers 17,000. Now they are at 43,000. The county has only accessed the property worth between 34-40,000. So the property taxes, that come with the sale of any house, are more than the property is even worth!
And that is a way that people RUIN and destroy the property in a city like Cleveland. Because who is going to want to buy a property and put any real money into it with property taxes that high!
Jennifer has one that with every single one of her properties. She told me she is losing 19 properties and has talked with the county about it. She told me the man she spoke with never thought that the eviction morotium would ever put someone in her situation. That she didnt get rent from her properties for two years so she didnt pay the property taxes.
Well....COIVD is actually a convenient excuse for her to use right now because regardless of what would have happened, I dont believe she would have paid the property taxes even if she had gotten rent those two years.
She isnt in foreclosure just because of two years of unpaid property taxes...were talking about five, six, seven years....I believe she got most of these properties around the same time, when she began working in a cheaper county than the one in which she lives (she never had the money to work in the county she lives and they she never would have been able to rent that kind of mismatched Pollyanna put together shit out there).....she has not made one payment since the first initial one on any propety I have been able to check and I can bet thats the case if shes losing them all.
Everyone she has dealt with and everyone she deals with in the future needs to know all she wanted was to get some properties for cheap, or free, put some slave labor from the people stupid enough to work for her (my husband and I dumbly lasted for about 2 months until she was unable to pay us the salary she promised almost every day and what she would give us not enough to live on....actually the only guy who has stuck with her...the day we helped her with a moving job...you should see the advantage she takes from free favors... my husband caught him going through the pockets of her jacket when he walked upstairs and we didnt say a word, being better friends with him and knowing why he was doing it..and we are ppl who never condone stealing, especially from individuals we know...but we know her too well, thats the problem)
COVID didnt ruin Jennifers properties, or her business, Jennifer ruined her business by being deceptive.
The problem with homelessness and the poor in general is that there are resources but they are not available or allocated because they are diverted or misused by people. They never get to the intended recipients. Being part of that community I saw it SOOO much. We were in a shelter for a year, saw donations of clothes come in from people almost every weekend.,...do you think we saw anything but one ripped and stained outfit that didnt even fit for each of us...in a year?
And this is the kicker...
when they were closing the shelter they wanted to give each person 600 when they left, as long as they could prove it went to shelter. At the time I was in the hospital having had that major surgery. So the shelter closing, me being in the hospital, my husband having nowhere to go and we had two weeks notice...all really bad timing.
And they made getting the 600 nearly impossible for people. Idk why because the day they were giving it out my husband said they walked in with a huge duffle full of cash....said it look like 10s of thousands of dollars. But, they did have two shelters closing with like 60 or more people in each shelter.
I only spoke with a few of the people who left the shelter that day, running into some over the next few months. Some of them only left with 300, the workers claiming since they had a roomate they had to split the 600 between the two of them, even though they werent related, stuck together in that room by fate and wouldnt even live together when leaving.
Some got a little cash and some gift cards...the homeless community workers always have giftcards when they want to give them...which is rare...but we were told at times they always have them laying around...we rarly see them.
But why would they hand out cash like that to the homeless when leaving? Why use that process? You are giving cash to a transient person, someone you probably wont be able to track down and find out what happens to it...and that is the reason.
There is no real help for the homeless, let me make you aware of this. Donate your money directly to a homeless person because regardless of what they do with it...at least their not stealing from a job in which claims they do charitable work.
I even talked with a woman who worked in Detroit within the homeless commumity, has stories worse than mine because she was a worker and saw those around who were deceptors...eventually she quit, disheartened with the whole thing. She just donates to the hands of the helpless now otherwise she knows it will never get to them.
