Dear Diary,

Been reading a few journals here and there during downtime at work, the last hour I just sit at the employee entrance twiddling my thumbs.

Anyway. I'm seeing alot of mother and father based topics. Do people normally have living parents nowadays?

Mine have been gone for years. While I don't know how old my dad was my mom made it to...40ish.

Many in my family don't make it past 50....one of the main reasons the rest of us refuse to use a hospital not on a rez. I shit you not. Family goes to a hospital elsewhere and bam. " Guess what you've got terminal cancer. Here's a bunch of deadly tests to fight it and some pills. "

Then next thing you know " Oh Im sorry, we missdiagnosed you and those pills? Whelp now they are doing more harm then good."

Our family lost almost 80% of it's elders all in the same year. Many within weeks of one another all due to misdiagnosis or because the " cure " did more damage then what they had been told they had.

Have to say...it's a weird feeling when you are in your 30s and now you and your siblings are the elders...

Side note. It's sad that they never got to live long enough to finally see our tribe get recognized. Little shell finally not being known as the landless natives was a dream many of them wished for.
