Dear Diary,

Nothing much going on today. I am getting so bored though. Reading, watching TV, cleaning, and cooking food is all I do. It is way too cold to do anything outside. I thought I got frostbite getting his mail outside. And his mail box is literally outside his door. It is crazy that wearing a t shirt and sweat pants is not enough clothes to grab the mail, which is right outside the door.

Kemper is at work for a bit today.

No word from my brother...figures. I haven't emailed him today because I just can't bring myself to do it and not have him answer anymore.

Maybe there is a new movie to watch tonight. I am getting really restless and need something to do outside of the norm. Kemper says we haven't even got to the worse part of winter yet. (WTF?!) I don't know how he deals with it being from California.

I get why Jack Nicholson's character went bat shit crazy in The Shining. I can completely relate! I checked, I don't see an axe anywhere so we should be good. Haha jk

We are also getting more snow/freezing rain mix a few times this week. This place averages 21 inches of snow every year. At least, that is what Google told me. Where I am from, we average 3 inches of snow per year. Although there is a lot of rain, 36 inches to be exact according to Google. That kind of seems like a lot but rain in the Pacific Northwest is common.

I was complaining a little bit about this week's forecast and Kemper looks at me and said that sometimes the power goes out for a day or two. He was kind of smiling when he said it but I seriously hope he is joking.

I spent the better part of the morning, snooping downstairs looking for a generator. (I didn't see one) He has his motorcycle and wash room area downstairs. It actually is kind of a neat layout for a place. His living space is all upstairs but downstairs is like a large garage with a steel door that is wide enough to drive a vehicle through and that is where his washing machine and dryer are and a big wash room sink.

It does need swept up. Lots of dirt! He also keeps his riding bag down there which looks stuffed to the gills with stuff and it is dirty as fuck. I will leave that be as I am sure it isn't meant for me to look through.

I will say the one thing I do like, is hearing the wolves at night. I crack open his bedroom window and sit on the sill and wait and listen. I worry about the horse down the road but they keep him inside at night, at least that is what Kemper said.

All of this probably makes me sound like a pampered princess. I have roughed it and camped many times, can't say I have enjoyed it. My dad also hunts and fish and I had the awesome opportunity (not really) to go along on some of those trips. I just get stir crazy when it is too cold to leave this place because it is too cold and the roads are shit from the snow.
