Dear Diary,

Whoa! That was some strong typhoon! We thought it would change direction like it usually does, but this time we were a direct hit.

The wind started to pick up at around 2am Manila time, and only grew stronger. Howling. I could hear debris being flung against the roofs of houses and maybe even some unfortunate vehicles. By 3:30am the wind and rain were ferocious. There were loud, banging noises outside. I was pretty sure that a part of the roof of our house gave in. My mother started to scream. But there is nothing we could do. Storms need to be weathered out.

A preliminary damage check at around 6am revealed that a portion of the roof really did get blown away. But we won't be able to check how much structural damage our house really did incur until the typhoon goes away completely. The winds are no longer as ferocious unlike some 3 hours ago, but there is still some gustiness. And it's still raining quite a lot.
