These allergies are also termed contamination allergies since they can transfer their triggers through mere secondary or tertiary contact with the original allergenic component. Allergic reactions to pollen are also very common in people. This is the largest allergy sensitive group in North America.

These allergic reactions tend to occur mostly in the spring but some pollens are very prevalent in the fall. While allergic reactions to pollen are for the most part not life threatening, some can be very sever and may require medical assistance to get the allergic reactions under control during an attack. This is especially true if the sufferer also has another condition such as asthma or chronic bronchitis. Dust Allergies are closely related to pollen allergies, as are pet allergies, this are often refereed to collectively as indoor/outdoor or environmental) allergies. These allergies can often be controlled by the taking of an over the counter allergy medication or treated with the use of a antihistamine such as Benedryl.Chocolate allergic reactions are usually not life threatening, and in all honesty this allergy is very rare. Allergic reactions to chocolate are most often blamed on food but the truth is that it is not the cocoa that makes up the chocolate that the person is allergic too. Usually its the other ingredients in the chocolate that trigger the allergic reaction..Allergic reactions are difficult to live with but that doesn't mean they have to be difficult to control. To avoid food reactions make sure that you are aware of what is in your food when you go out to restaurants. Check the restaurants website for a list of ingredients and make sure you speak with the chef or the kitchen manager to ensure that no local substitutions are being made that may affect the allergens in the food. Read labels and if you suffer from indoor/outdoor (otherwise known as environmental) allergies make sure that you take your daily control medication as it is prescribed and keep a pack of Benedryl handy for those times when the daily control is just not strong enough.
