Scripture:

Jn. 1:5 "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race, the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it"

*This repetition of the words in the account of John is very beautiful. Depicting the first word in the account of Genesis, seeing the Oneness of the Old and New testament. That things did not exist just because of an explosion or what. But with the power and the word of God. Noticing the capitalization of the "Word", it connotes the existence of the Son of God. Even in the beginning of yime, the Son of God was already there. God, the Father Almighty expresses His love since Bereshit. Giving life to earth through His son. And even in the prologue 1-5 verses, we can already see that no matter how evil s situation is, darkness will not overcome the light.

Application:

The prologue 1-5 verses themed in me as "Believe". The word who is the Son of God is always with us. Rembering the account in Matthew, "I Will Be With You". This is a concrete portrayal of real life with the Lord. Nothing came to be without Him. That is why even in this first 5 verses, the word /phrase everything happens for a reason may apply. All we have to do is Believe. No matter how bad or how difficult a situation is, God is always there, because He is the Light that shines in the darkness.
