Dear Diary,

To all veterans...thank you. My flesh and blood has served. I've been ever so thankful, that they never was in precarious situations...but many have. There are many that won't be unscathed by protecting our country. They make the choice. Most, I believe don't have a clue as to what they are truly signing up for. It saddens me to see stories of maimed soldiers or to know there psychological state of mind is damaged and they come back with it still playing over in their heads.

None the less, they still chose that plight. As for me, I'm grateful. While I can easily see and hear that our country has issues...and there are many...I still have freedoms that are only because of people protecting our country and for that reason, I'm thankful beyond any words I can actually write.

PTSD is a silent killer. We dont talk about it enough. I wish more people and organisations would come open to help these soldiers deal with the stress.
